It's Been Awhile.....

Have not been on here for a few years, mostly busy with other things in life. Decided to get back to relic hunting. Still a rabid X-Terra 70 fan, as I have dug hundreds of bullets and buttons with them, yes I have 2 early production models, the best out there!
I have a dear friend that is a dealer and he was too a real 705 user. Well, he started to use the Equinox 800 when he 1st got it in. He was really impressed with it, so last week I decided to get one and give it a go. When I first saw it I was a little intimated by
all of the settings, so he set me up to the way he was running it in field 2. Well a few swipes over my old relic test bed and I decided to change it up some. Went to field 1 for the 2 tones I was use to on the X-Terra and notched in all above iron. Weird that
it blanks out in the threshold in any mode that it has. Anyways went to hunt yesterday at a spot that we and others have literally hammered over the years. I have to say the Nox is more sensitive than the X-terra on .22 bullets, was digging them at 6 inches!
All in all to me after using the X-Terra for over 10 years, the Nox, to me is very similar in a lot of ways.
The buttons in our area are a sad sight, got a cuff and a coat button in rough shape, in fact, 10 years ago they would of been whole with good backs and shanks. The 2 fired .36 St Louis Arsenal tear drop bullets were found at at least 6" deep.
The jury is still out on the Nox, my beloved X-Terra's are on the hangers for backup right now.

You know your relics, nice show of your efforts.
Can't wait to see what else you come up with.

"The jury is still out on the Nox" A jury of one.

I have noticed more of my buttons are toast, still some nice ones coming out. All those setting adjustments are what makes the Nox the real deal as you have discovered hunting and customizing. Nice to have you back especially a fellow Missourian.

Nice saves field 2 is my preferred setting my finds have been really good its my main detector its killer on gold to its super sensitive especially on low conductors.

If you live in my area the Knox isn't so great, but if your not competing with me it's the best detector ever for raw depth
