er,it arrived. Got my XL Pro today!
But, didnt have time to play with it much. Think I will like the SAT mode and being able to pull trigger into the discrimination mode.
It was easy to ground balance but I gotta learn to signal balance it better. However it was almost dark when I got it together and went out. The mosquitos were really bad!! I have a silver quarter and a merc dime buried about 6 inches (did that about 3 mos back) and a recently buried silver quarter at 8 inches. The 6 inch targets hit and IDed but didnt get a reading on the 8 inch quarter,BUT, I was playing with the settings. Gotta learn how to get it right. Gotta remember to pull that trigger when I make changes.
I was using the 8 inch Blue Max. That will have to do for now, till after Christmas.
It felt good in my hand, felt as light as my M6. It seems much more mellow when hitting a target than the M6. May be the headphones, dont know yet. I was using a different set of phones on the Pro than the M6. Both are Killer Bees but one set is the older type.
Cant wait to get her going and learning it.

All advice and instructions will be taken happily. Im just an ignorant man trying to lessen my ignorance, lol.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.
John

Read and re-read the owners manual. Read all of the advanced tuning about the signal balance tuning in relationship to the ground balancing of the detector as this will help you the most with the XL Pro to get the most out of the detector.

I love my XL Pro. One of the most stupid things Whites ever did was to quit producing them in my personal opinion.

Good Luck,

The 6000 DI Pro Sl and its siblings, XL-Pro and IDX are still top detectors IMO. I can't understand why Whites would not continue to make them better, I am guessing it has to do that a large segment of newer detectors have the higher operating freqs.

hello!..john!
first, let me congratulate you on the purchase of what is arguably one of the "deadliest" coin snipers ever built!..this detector, especially with the 6" coil on board
the tip i have for you is to switch to the (s.a.t) mode when hunting in trash!..did you say you HAVE the 6" coil already?..if so,then put it on,and never take it off!
run signal balance as "hot" as you can,and go slowly in (s.a.t.) mode, then cross- cicuit into (g.e.b-disc) to further isolate the targets!..you will get separation on a par with the best top of the line detectors..trust me,you will love this detector, while you find your share!...best of luck!
