ventured out about an hour or so before dark and hit a playground. It sucked and the playground was soaked and was like walking on a wet sponge. I found a hot 44 cents before darknes and the cold crept up on me, but at least I got out. I left a couple of coins I couldn't find in the soggy chips. Besides I had some Mexican kid hanging on me like a blow fly irritating the hell out of me. We're supposed to have two or three more dry days so maybe I can score something.

All of last week and for the rest of this week I am stuck doing the monday=friday dayshift thing at work. Haven't worked straight days in over fifteen years so it just kills me to see a blue sky day go by with me stuck indoors. Blue sky days here on the wet side of Washington State are as rare as even tempered red-heads. (I am one and married one, trust me I know)
As I am just starting my hobby of metal detecting I really can't imagine what it is like to spend a day hunting without being bundled up in layers of clothing and soaking wet rain gear. Once good wether arrives it will be strange not being covered in mud while using a detector that looks like it was a "FIND" and not a "Finder" if you get my drift.

Maybe in your book this story could be included in the chapter titled "It Ain't Always Easy."
So, do you know how to say, "get lost" in Spanish?
I do. Just point and say "La Migra". That's Spanish for Border Patrol. If he's an illegal, he'll run for the nearest creek and hide:devil:

Uncle Willy Try a different chip dip that should take care of the soggy chips :rofl: Well I thought it was funny . Later Graw :yo:

But thanks to recent storm damage - priorities for damage repairs has really cut into my detecting time for a good while - and this is the time of year I usually do most of detecting - wish I could squeeze an hour or two in a week - but when repairs are done, I'll either be more than ready or all worn out.

Yeah unluckily repairs come first. But there will be better times. Today I had to take momma to the doctor and was there until 4:pM so that blew today. It gets dark and cold here at 4:59 PM. During summer I'm still detecting at 10 PM as it doesn't get dark till around 11 PM.
