It might just be me but I have noticed the V-Rated coil's

when used on the MXT allows for more sensitivity and also runs smoother and ground balances on the first pump of the coil!! Dont know if they are wound to tighter tolerances or if they can handle more power?

Whatever it is doing I like it!!

Just an observation I've noticed on 2 V-rated coils..One was the D2 coil and the other is the 8x6 S.E.F. V-Rated.
I can run both full power!!

Thanks

Keith

Hmm, I'll have to check some of Larry's coils he has for the "V-3". Those are the coils that work best with the new V-3 detectors. Only bad thing......I'll have to wait till the ground thaws. Thanks for the info and HH, Nancy

My MXT does that with the 6X10DD regular version, but in most of the areas I detect the soil is mild enough that i can run my sensitivity pretty high with any of my coils. (non V)

Thanks Keith,

I'm glad you shared this about the V-3 coils helping the MXT with better stability, When I first heard the V-3 coils would work with the MXT I wanted to get a V rated 6"X10" coil for the MXT and compare it against regular 6"X10" MXT coil.

Had a suspicion it would help with stability and your post confirms what I was needing to know, Up in the California gold country I think with the V-rated coil the MXT can operate with higher sensitivity.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

I've often wondered about that myself cause the D2 coil that I have is V rated and it puts the super 12 I have to shame, thanks for the informative post

More than likely, your ground is very mineralized where the DD coils will out perform conical coils. I believe White's made a statement that the V rated coils are not any better than non-V rated coils for the M6, MXT, DFX and V3 in normal mode. A "V" rated coil is a coil that has been nulled to accept the higher operational voltage, (30 volts) of the Boost feature of the V3 without overloading. The normal operational voltage is around 10 volts which an older non-V coil should work fine.

.........................:clapping:

Now that you mention it BJ..........I am missing a couple of V coils...............NANCY!!.............

Who me???? NEVER!!!!

MXT when ran wide open! At least on my machine it does. Heck I have been running DD coils on a MXT for a couple years but these V-Rated DD's definitely allow me to go wide open in my ground and I usually have to stay at around 9 to maintain stability but I can get in 5th gear now (5th click on the sens knob) with no problems!!

So its helping me

Thanks for the reply
O" Yeah this 8X6 is an awesome coil guys!

Keith...I heard you were the person to talk to about modifying my Cibola for me. I just registered, and I'm not sure how to contact you directly. I would like the GB with the pinpoint toggle/switch you recommend. I can't see why anyone wouldn't want that mod after seeing some of the videos/tests posted online. I'm asking because I know you're a pro...and you obviously know what you're doing. I just ordered the 10" Elliptical Widescan coil for it. I would like to use this to work in and around trees/stumps. Do you have any recommendations? For open hunting I plan to use the my Omega 8000 with an 11"DD. Thanks, ~Justin Barrow
