It is taking time to do research. I know it will pay me back big time.

I have been MDing very little. I have a trip planed for Saturday. It will be a 2 mi. hike to an old log cabin where my mother was born. Only thing left there is mosey covered foundation stones. It is all forest and no roads. I may not find much. There is a lot of area to cover. It has been 16 years since I have been there. It is more of a nostalgic trip in an area that was my family's homestead. There is another homestead near by that dates back to the 1800's. There are 8 home sites in one sq. mi. and lots of trash or treasure. All the houses have crumbled to nothing. Just forest.
I was at a friend's house and he gave me some 1920 topo's of Northern W.Va, and S.W PA. I was studying them. I noticed lots of school houses that don't exist today. Just bare fields where they once stood.
