it finally rained... went relic hunting

I've had enough of coin hunting for a while so I decided to hunt a homestead for a few hours today. It rained pretty good last night and boy did I get muddy. My wife is going to kick my ass when she sees my clothes.

But it was worth it... I'm real pleased with the finds.
Found some regular relic hunting type junk, but also a decent brass buckle, and this large ornate initial pin which is in fantastic shape!!
It's just a hair under 3" round and is stamped "Silver" on the back and is rather heavy.
Detected with the Excal and dug at roughly 10" ...

THE STANDING LIB QUARTER IS THERE FOR SIZE REFERENCE AND I DID FIND IT, BUT NOT ON THIS TRIP.

See how you just said" My wife is going to kick my .... Well I can see right now that you didn't show her the correct way of life at the start. This may help if you were not married to long.Do what I did with Betty.Get her in a head lock and whomp the hell out of her,Buddy next time she see's some mud on your clothing,She will say,Daring please let me wash your cloth,I think you have a little mud on them. Now I ain't one to start anything,But I'm sure it would happen they way.

Ya'll be careful now. hehehe

I love finds like this... because now the real fun begins..
when I have time I'll go over old census records and see if I can find a name match. It would be pretty cool if I could put a name and date to it.
