I've got seated half, seated dimes, 6-7 Walkers, a couple Bens, and 1 Ken, 5 Barber quarters, 8-10 Barber dimes but NO Barber half....until today!!!!!!!! Was beginning to think there wasn't a Barber anything in my Podunk town. Had a good hunt today on a private I scored this morn. Everything I dug today was deep and all I was getting was copper memorials and clad 6-9" range so I'd almost wrote this one off until I hit the back yard and dug the Barbie. Signal was all over the map but just enough high tone to signal coin? I dug about 7-8" and popped out a peice of metal roofing and waved it in front of the coil and thought yes...that's what I heard down there. Filled hole and replaced the plug and checked it with the coil again and got a much cleaner high tone so I went back in and found the Barbie....... Anyways...after 22+ yrs my first Barber Half (and first barber anything from Montana).... Have about 2/3rd the place to hunt yet so maybe more silver with any luck.........

Beautiful! Hoping to dig some rightheous silver with my new Etrac. Thanks for sharing!

And a beautiful one at that! Congratulations on your first barber

Great dig...old private homes are the best. You never know what you are going to dig....glad you rechecked your hole, sure would hate to see that stay in the ground for another 106 yrs, or worse yet have someone come behind you after you cleared the trash out. The Etrac is amazing.

Thanks guys...!!!!! Yeah, been struggling and working hard and haven't found anything very old so this Barbie half was a real boost that I needed!!!!!

Hey Mike......Looks like you've done exceptionally well on your trip (soooo jealous)...!!!!!!!!! You gonna come thru Missoula on your return hopefully..???? If so...keep in touch and maybe we can meet? I'll get me a motel in Missoula and maybe you can teach me a few things if you would????

A fantastic looking coin - and it even came with a 1800's date - good job ! :clapping:
