It can find a silver lining on a cloudy day !!

Went out today for a couple of hours detecting between storms.. Meet up with a *hole that thought they owned the easement !! I was nice, polite and explained it to him.. I said "As you can see you can't tell where I have retrieved a target".. He said, I'll call the cops and I replied "Go ahead, they all know me and stop and see if I found anything".. Well he was out of control so I told him I was done with him and went across the street.. Well he called me a lowlife (not actually what he said) and said "get a job"
Well I went on my way determined not to let him damper my enjoyment.. I recovered the usual clad and a handful more wheat's.. Then at the edge of a driveway a "93"VDI !! Seven inches down a white rim of silver !! Nice a Mercury dime.. Did not have my glasses and forgot the magnifying glass I put in my pouch.. Started to rain and I headed home.. Rinsed off the dime and it turned out to be a 1918 .. Took a few pics.. Thanks for reading my rant !! Also the Core does smack hard on silver !!

Nice silver.
Sounds like you handled it well.

Outstanding cosmic! What were your settings and which coil were you using? What mode?

Thanks!

GB was 65, d3, 80 sensitivity, mask up to 83 I was tired of digging... Stock coil today..

Good job, I've found 5 silver coins with the CoRe so far. 1 with the small coil 2 with the stock, and 2 with the (Biggin) 4 mercs 1 Rosie.

Very cool farmer Stan! Quick question for you on the big CoRe coil. Where exactly is the SWEET spot to pinpoint? I've tried it once and wasn't patient enough to figure it out (my hunting buddy begged me to go to lunch, and then I changed coils)

Thanks
Bubba

SAY WHAT COSMIC? YOU had the MASK turned up to....85....? Wow. And the silver dime was still a solid signal?

Very cool,
Bubba

The sweet spot is pretty darn centered in my opinion. I don't have any problems with any of the coils for the CoRe. And I wouldn't run the Id mask so high I noticed you get a better lock on targets the lower the mask is, and it makes a difference in target depth in my observations, that Biggin is for pretty clean areas so if there is trash switch to the stock or the Dink. Good luck

The mask was at 83 because I was tired of digging cents.. All of the wheats were that and above.. I don't have a big coil, but the easy way to find the sweet spot is to lower your sensitivity, place in pinpoint and use a non spring action tip of a ball point pen.. Run it around till the strongest signal and then tranfer that spot to the top of the coil... Or use a BB on the end of a wooden or plastic stick.. On the stock coil the point molded in the coil seems to be the spot, but I don't kno it the big coil is the same way..
