As I drove to work in the darkness this morning, it snowed. Yikes.....but no problem. I headed straight home after work, got out one of those hand warmer hot pacs, taped it on the Scorp underneath where the batteries are situated, put on the camo cover and I was ready to go. I hit a soccer field and low and behold, the Scorp found another ring. And it was just at the freezing point outside. This setup worked well, as expected.

Pic of the finds is below. :)

John, how do you detect a soccer field? What area is most productive for you, parking lot, side lines, the field?
I'm guessing that if you start after work and go till it gets dark, you don't have as much time as you do during the summer months.
How do you make every minute count? I'm new to detecting and I havn't tried a soccer field yet.

I grid sections. I do the whole field, sometimes the sidelines and behind the goal posts. I don't use a digger, just the ProPointer and a screwdriver. Digging holes on any sports field is the quickest way to get booted off.

Thank you for the Info. John. I'm going to have to get a Pro Pointer. I'd like to be able to pop coins.

And by NOT digging a hole using a digger, you save so much valuable time, which is used digging even more signals. Don't worry about digging a lot of junk, All of us do too, we just don't post it because it's ugly.
