The fine people on this forum who have learned their detectors to the utmost.
It amazes me their willingness to share all aspects of their knowledge.

Thank you. Each and everyone of you. You are so appreciated for all you do.

I am amazed too. I found these forums years back when I thought I was one of the few diggers in the world. Turns out I was a real lightweight! It is hard to believe how many people enjoy this hobby. It seems normal to us because we read the forums daily, but when you step back and think about it, it is truly amazing.

I would still in the DARK age if not for the help and info here and elsewhere.
Like everything , the better you understand it the more enjoyable it is.

A person could easily get frustrated using the wrong technique's , equipment or site location.
To think if you read and heard nothing , just went out hunting WOW .
Even if you played baseball or golf chances are you watched someone else do it.

When I started (before the internet) I did things that could have got me arrested and my equipment confiscated. I figured historical markers and state parks were a great place to hunt. Amazing how lucky I was...

My uncle started way back when. I remember he never had a problem finding places to hunt. People were friendly, interested and always willing to help him find new sites.

We are fortunate to live is a small town, 10,000, with many other small towns nearby. Permission granted is much more likely than denied. My Nancy grew up in a town of about 1,000 and when we were hunting there, neighbors walked up, chatted and offered their yards to be searched. We hunted up one side of the road, and back down the other side. Small friendly town rule....:yo:

I woulda sold my Ace 250 (or chunked it in the trash) and I would never have bought the Tesoro Compadre if not for this forum. I learned how to use the Ace and the Compadre is my favorite gold detector.
