Issue with F-75 discrimination abilities.....

I've been very happy with my F-75 regarding weight, ergonomics, depth and ease of use...but I have a problem with its ability to disriminate in trashy house sites. Putting all BS aside I can do a very simple test that it will not pass.
On clean, non-mineralized ground I can dig a three inch hole and place in it an eagle button 1/2 inch from a 2 inch previouly dug nail. They are positioned like this I+ There is NO setting that will give me a two directional signal that I can HONESTLY state that I would dig...and believe me I've tried them all from JE 90sens 0discrim on up through a zillion permutations. On the other hand I take a Tesoro Vaquero, tune it to eliminate the nail, and get a perfect signal in both directions. I can place the nail ON TOP of the button and get the signal. I would put the blame on the F-75's 10" coil --- but I'm doing this test on ground where there are no other objects to be read.
Any thoughts? I really think my F-75 is working fine...I've been able to pull some nice stuff from trashy sites with it -- I just wonder what I'm missing???

Disc on 6? A lot of folks are reporting that's one of the best "unmasking" disc settings for the 75.... worth a shot if you haven't already tried it.
