Is your 3D out of tune

That's what i asked myself when i picked up a used 1021 CZ 3D.
Tom D said to take 100 Clean Nickles out of circulation and test in Enhanced mode 5 to 6 inches from coil.
20 - 35% would hit on round pull tab the rest will hit on Nickle icon.
Well i used 104 Nickles and not one hit as a Nickle. I was 0 for 104 and after seeing this i moved my disc knob
up 2 clicks to tab setting and all Nickels were gone, Disc out. Keep in mind the Tab icon is several clicks before the Nickle icon.

I am surprised the last owner did not wrap it around a tree.

I had it calibrated /certified /corrected
as it was off at several points.
Tone / ID / Stability/ and Salt mode
Two day turn around
On its way back now .Cant wait to give her a run .

Tom will have it straightened out. My nickel window was also out of calibration. Mine would read older nickels in salt mode as foil like it should,But in enhanced mode it would stay foil. I sent it to him and now it will read this as nickel in enhanced mode like it should. He also staightend out the smeared tone and made it sharp and crisp like it should be. I guess it is not only FT machines that can be out of calibration,But also the 1021 los banos machines.
