Is this video honest about the Etrac?

This video is showing the Etrac misses small gold in a air test. There are posts on this youtube video that say it is well know that the Etrac in not good on small gold. Is this true or is this a setup? This is the first time I have heard of this. I have a Minelab Sovereign. I have not found small gold but have found small flakes of aluminum and large gold rings. I would think I would find small gold if it was there however this is making me wonder. Check this out:

I found a small goldstud with it, hit hard although the numbers were pretty low, 12/6.

this is true for chains and fin gold objects, but Etrac is better and in most situation you can get most that other miss. but in with some settings you can get some this objects too.

The FBS machine's do not air test well and as Rick(ND) said..."You don't hunt coin's in the air" or something close to that....lol! I've found gold earring backs at good depth's while hunting beaches with my E. That's small enough for me. HH-CC

I done a video with some small gold rings. It was only an air test but It was not as bad as some people make it out to be.

Air tests are great for checking ID#'s But in the ground is where it counts. I have found a small gold pendent 1/4"x1/4" at 4" It may not be the best at small gold, but is that what your really searching for? I would rather miss a thin gold chain and have no problem finding a gold ring. People are finding gold items all of the time with the ETrac, If you really want to find small gold, buy a GPX5000. Define what type of hunting your wanting to do, Coin/jewlery hunting, water hunting, gold prospecting, relic hunting, Where are you going to be hunting? Parks, beaches, In my opinion the ETrac is the best coin/jewlery machine, and that's what I look for. If I ever get into water hunting I would buy a Excaliber, If I get into gold hunting I would buy a GPX5000. Good luck to you in your searches

I think with the etrac being in a "salt mode" all the time that it is gonna miss the smallest of gold items ( although as one poster stated he found an earing back THAT is pretty small !!!). I can live with missing fine, small chains for the OTHER benefits the etrac affords us !!!!

Nice video, but do you really sweep that fast when you're out hunting. I'll bet if you slow down you sweep speed, you'll hear those rings deeper. remember, the Etrac loves slow and low.........NGE

ETRAC will miss very fine small gold items lots of times. I know that to be true from trying to find a earing stud in a small area of a sand volleyball court that I knew was there. Eventually we found it by eye and the ETRAC couldn't pick it up at all. The machine is great for just about everything else though.
