I found this today at what used to be an old house site.
I think it's silver,I can bend it a little and a magnet will not stick to it.
i also found an ax head, belt buckle and what i think is a old button.
it my all be junk but i had fun.

It looks like a quarter... Just kidding :)

If its silver try polishing it (gently), but it probably would not be that dark colored if its silver.

Thanks for the laugh.
I scraped off the crud on one edge and it shines.

If it bends a little and wont stick to a magnet, plus it looks like it may have some corrosion on it. Silver will normally come out of the ground shinny unless it is very wet or a lot of fertilizer in the ground, then it will be black and no corrosion I have seen.
Does it look like any writing on it as it may be a token.

Definitely not aluminum.
It's heavy, but too hard for lead.
it was found in a field that has been farmed for at least 40 years.
since i found it i have found a 1862 Indian head penny about 50 yards away.the penny was in bad shape,i looked at it under a glass and could make out the date but when i cleaned it more the date was gone.
the only marking are the lines that you can see and the hole that has been pressed through the center. the hole is burred on the backside.
I'm going to carry it to a coin shop as soon as i get a chance and see if they have any ideas.

This penny should be fatter than a reg penny I believe and this is a case where it will read right in the middle of the pull tab range, not like the latter IH that will read like the new zinc penny will read. In my 34 years of detecting I have not found a fatties yet, but see many posted on the forums and wonder if I have went over any and didn't dig them as I thought they were pull tabs. Maybe I didn't either as I dig all deep targets that are not iron no matter what the meter will read, find a lot of interesting things that way.
Maybe taking you disc to a coin shop where it can possibly be tested will let you have a idea of what it is.
Nice find on the 1862 IH.
