Hi,
Is it possible to set up a descrim pattern in Advanced Learn mode to have it accept only silver coins on edge?

While setting up a pattern to cherry pick silver, I was curious about this. Or does the coin in situe not make any difference at all? Does it detect on the merits of the targets conductivity alone and the signal is just 'chirped' because of the angle of the target? Or can a pattern be set up to learn just those silver targets on edge?
Just curious and hope I made myself clear on this...

Since, I believe your question to be sincere I will attempt to answer (in my opinion)! I believe that if you want to "Cherry Pick" just learn those coins in the Learn Mode. My belief is that it does not make a difference whether the coins are on edge or not! I have experminted with this and lets just say "Dimes".....You will get all Dimes the Clad, Silver and Barbers.....I think the Learn is good but not tight enough for what you are attempting! Good practice with the Machine though <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">.........HH
 
The silver coins I find on edge can read anywhere.Some read all over the place,and some read as a penny but sound like silver.
IMO,tighter patterns only cost you coins,the more you open up and accept,the more coins you find,<b>especially in heavy trash!</b>

I was sittin' on the back deck having a couple of ice cold Labatts, playing with the 'Learn' feature and after that it seemed like an idea whose time had come!!!
