Hi there........
A rather weird thing happened when I cranked up the gain beyond factory preset and
into ...+1....on my old faithfull-- it started a sort of jamming sound...
I was in the process of testing my new friend the Detech Excellerator 4,5 x 7" when this happened.
There seems to be nothing wrong with MXT or my other coils - the jamming seems to be of the same sort
you get when too close to another MXT friend.......
Every comment is an appreciated gift

I don't know what jamming sounds like. I have a 5" ans 8" and they sound the same as my Whites coils. I think my 8" might be a little more sensitive to electrical noise around transformers. Rob

--hi again ;)
my use of the word jamming points to a sort of screamlike sound --something like the overload signal
you get when the coil is too close to a metal object
I have never experienced this happen with any other coil i use on my MXT ........

I would call JW at Kellyco. I've never heard anything like you describe and run them many times at +3. Rob

I have several 4.5x7 Excelerator coils and I have never experienced the noise you are having even when turning the gain up higher than presets I suggest you contact JW at Kellyco as he would know what is going on with your coil. HH Dennis in Idaho
