I purchased my Explorer II Last July, and have done extremely well with it. I found the learning curve to be nowhere close to what I had read about. I found that I had reached the 85 % level within the first 6 weeks of use.
Here is my question.
Due to weather, work schedule, Holidays, and other unexpected calamities, I had not been able to go out and detect since the day after Thanksgiving. When I was able to, the weather was bad, or something else was preventing my enjoyment. I got to go for about two hours yesterday, and finally get to use my Sunray X-1 which Mrs. Clause got me for Xmas. I found that after about a six week layoff, I did not feel as "one" with my detector. I found that the sounds were not as "readable" as before, but started comming back. The same for my sixth sense on whether a target was worth digging. I guess for lack of a better term, I was suffering from severe RUST or is this a symptom of "newbie-itis" that I thought I was well past.
DOES ANYONE ELSE have these difficulties after a good layoff, or is it just me????
