I found this in my yard where I have found some early relics. Can anyone identify this it is brass or copper.

If it's threaded, it could be the top to a coin savings tube. You drop the coin in the slot and watch as your savings add up.

Old Fluorescent bulb ends... These are aluminum, but I bet they used to be copper or brass.
That's my bet.
 
Looks like an oil lamp burner for a Queen Anne lamp. But it is not the obvious part, it's the bottom piece that you cannot see without removing and turning the burner over.
