Is this cool?

Just got this from a guy who had read my 360.yahoo profile and commented:

"Hi. Just read your hobby comments with interest. I've always had an interest in metal detecting... sounds so cool, but it is something I've never pursued. I used to live though on (blank) West ofthe State Capitol building. The home I lived in was built in 1937, but long before that, the property had been the site of a blacksmithy and who knows what else? On two occasions I found coins of interest just lying in the back yard. One was an Indian Head Penny from 1907 or before, I think. The other was a 1905 Canadian half-dime which I still have lying about here someplace I think.

The half-dime was found on the ground close to where an ancient set of laundry lines were set. I've often thought that the whole backyard, and especially the area around the laundry would be an excellent spot to do some metal detecting."

One never knows where a detecting lead will come from. Will have to write this guy back and find out more. He certainly has my attention.
Pretty damp outside after about 3 days of eain and mist - gonna try my luck this morning I think and see what God has for me to find today.
We have a showing of the house today but Sherry said I could go detecting if I would like to get out.

My last great 1800's farm house was offered before I asked! I love it when that happens! :)

Seems the guy does not accept messages through Yahoo and no other way to get an addy for him. Looks like a dead end with him. Sure hard to get him fired up on detecting if he makes himself unavailable.
I was going to tell him I have a couple extra detectors so we could go out together and have some fun. His loss.

Houses only on the west side and not that many as the church property takes up some. I'd be more then pleasured to go knocking with you if you ever want. I will see if my wife can get some more info for you.
