Is this a Tesoro coil ?

Hello all just trying to figure out if this is an older tesoro coil. It's a 5 pin and around 4 inches....it came with an Fisher 1265 detector I bought and the noticed it did not work for it. Tell me what you think guys. Thanks in advanced.

It looks like it is a Tesoro coil.

I thought the micro max were newer machines and umax are the older ones....Are the 5 pin models compatible no matter there age. Thanks

If I had any money, I would bet that coil is a Fisher and is for models 1260 and 1220, those 2 models had reverse plugs from the 1265x or 1266x machines. That coil should measure pretty close to 3.75" and will only work on the 1220/1260 machines.

Post this same thread up on the Fisher Classic and see what you get from those guys.

yes I believe if you can plug it in it will work  now if only every detector company could say that

yes 2 types of coils the 5 pin fits all of those Micromax detectors and the big box ones also, 4 pin Vaquero, Cibola, Tejon are the so called HOT tech, so really the 5 pin has been used on the land machines until the HOT machines.

I hope if any of this info is wrong someone will correct it

so makes sense to have 5 pin coils as the fit more machines from back then if you are in to those like the compadre if it had a place to plug a coil it would be 5 pin and well still the best disc on a Tesoro I have used I know some of the older machines have 180 disc & the tejon maybe I am still not as convinced its as good as the humble compadre in that area.

now how did I get there LOL

I thought so too Ron ....but the coil ears and plastic look different on this coil compared the the Fisher coils... And where the coul wire goes into the coil is different too.....i was really hoping for this coil to be a fisher as it came with the fisher 1265 i just purchased along with a 8" and 11" coil....however they do look very simialr. Here is a photo I found of a Fisher 1260x sniper coil

i might be wrong but it sure looks a lot like the one hanging off the end of my silver?

Lol....I know what you mean...well I got a Tesoro coil out of the 1265 deal.....I bought the Fisher on a gamble...hoping it would just need new battery packs ? It seems so far that it's, tore it apart last night and the battery packs seem to be the culprit ! Ron you still running a Fisher !

JJ...now all you need is a Tesoro to use that 4" coil...lol

I got a compadre.....I guss it would work on it if I did the coil swap modd.....but I really like the 8" coil on it. However separation would be killer on the compadre with the that small sniper !

Kind of sounds like what happened to me, my wife got me a trolling motor for Christmas and I had to go by a bass boat to put it on.

Yep still running Fisher's I now have a F75 and 1270. I run the 1270 with a little flower pot coil that is about the same as the Tesoro coil. I just sold a like new Lobo a couple of weeks ago.

Back in the day I had both the 1265x and 1266x and both are good machines. I had a little flower pot coil for the 1265x and it was just about the best nickle machine I ever hunted with.

Good luck with bring that 65 back to life.
