Found this item at an older site. Appears to be made out of Brass. It was folded some and I striaghten it out. Any help will be appreciated!!

It resembles a keyhole cover, but most likely was affixed to wood or leather and used as a latch/tab cover, similar to carry cases or bags. Don't know for sure. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
