Is this a musket ball?

Hello

My hunting partner found a possible musketball today. We were hunting an old stage coach stop. Seems a little early for this stage coach stop since it was functioning in the 1890s.. but have no idea what else it could be.

Thanks!

Hi DB,

you have certainly found a musket ball, the flat spot on the ball is called the sprue and it's where the lead is poured into the mold, I do a lot of black powder pistol shooting at our local club, it's lot of fun with plenty of smoke and noise.

All the best.....Boony

I have the official measurements.

.535 caliber
weighs 229 grains

I was able to look up this caliber in a black powder catalog. Pretty cool. My hunting partner is psyched.
