HI guys check out this coil and let me know if its a better coil than the stock 950 donut hole for the idx classic sl .Need one of this coils pronto so need some feedbacl please:please:

just maybe, you need a different search coil.

What is the need you have to change from the 950 coil?

If the 950 is too heavy for you or awkward, then the 8" will be better.

If you are hunting trashier places and you want to hunt in and amongst the trash, I would suggest one of the 6-and-a-half inch coils. I have used them 98% of the time, or more, on all the Classic series I have used since '94. Those include the Blue Max 600, 5.3 BlackMax and 5.3 Bullseye. All are essentially the same and are in the same size housings.

Get the 5.3 coil. Not enough difference between the 800 and the 950.

I do have my super nasty trash set-up Classic ID w/4½" Snooper coil (the Blue Max 350) that's along for the ride for the really iron challenged places, but my 'excess' Classic's (like my friend Gregg I have too many personal detectors and I am selling down my excess) that I am selling have a new 5.3 BullsEye coil mounted on them. The best 'go-to' coil you could want, to be sure.

I think anyone with any good Classic model needs to have a 6½" coil mounted, or at least in their coil inventory.
