Is this a Gold Coin?:whites:

I found this in a city park and it rang up on my XLT like a mix between brass/copper/pulltab sound but was so out of the ordinary and coin-sized so it got dug from about 2" down.
The bezel seems to be some sort of brass plated junk metal.
There is a glass cover.
There seems to be a very thin gold coin inside.
Coin size is just over 5/8" and very, very thin if it is indeed a coin.
There is a hole drilled into the back of the bezel that goes into the chamber behind the glass.
There is a hole to hang the pendant from a chain I am guessing.

Any ideas what I have?

I don't know but it is a nice find possible I guess. Howard

Flip it over what's on the back?

# 4

That is one strange find!!! Please do some more scans of the back. It is so wierd the way the letters are placed unevenly and the line on the four is on the side, and not the base. It leaves the impression of being something that was scientific, and then saved in the case? I can't wait until you finally break down and crack the case open (or crack and break the case open) and have the thing really examined properly. (government 'spooks" come to mind on this find for some reason.)

I think we are looking at the back side. That would put the line on the bottom of the 4.

The bezel looks like something from Stargate SG-1. I hope it wasn't found near Roswell, NM

Seriously I wonder if it isn't a bezel and back of a necklace watch. Those were pretty popular several years back

I don't know the proper name for them though.
