I was a little stunned to come across this while doing a google search for testing of the special edition t2s. My impression is that it is a rip-off T2 manufacturer's ad -

Think I'm going to switch brands..every three months it seems a new release is out..Drops the price of what we have instantly..

also begs the question if any patents may have been circumvented!
hmmmmm!..interesting!..damn thing looks like a "dead nuts!" copy of the original!

Go to http://www.alibaba.com/ and search for a name brand metal detector (fisher, teknetics, whites or minelab)..

I don't know if the companies produce them for the name brand companies and sell these on the side or if they are all straight knockoffs.

My guess from looking at the prices would be counterfeit. Looks like most of the prices are for quantities of 10 or more, and most of those dirt cheap prices are coming from places like Indonesia. And patent infringement is routine over there.

E-Tracs for $459, Garrett 2500s for $110, F75s for $429, Cortes for $199, Safaris for $225, etc.

I know Dave Johnson and Mike Scott periodically visit this forum, hopefully they are willing to shed some light on this.
