is there competition!?

hi everyone,
i thought id ask the proffesionals.. which one would out preform the other? the minelab excalibur 1000 or the garrett infinium LS?
what would the major differences be?

The Infinitum will give greater depth. It's a pulse induction machine and the Excal is a multi frequency VLF machine. What the Excal will give you over the infinitum though, is better discrimination, via it's tone system. Both machines will take time to master. The infinitum discriminates fairly well for a PI machine, but it is still fairly basic.
The bottom line is: do you want more depth, or a more refined discrimination?
