I know there are old post where it has been done. Thanks just let me know if you can and what the cost is to do it. Thanks Jim

The problem is the screws to take it apart are under the decal on the front, so you may ruin the decal getting it off, I will cut holes in the decal to get at the screws seems to work the best for me.
The kits come with 3 different resistors, but you only use 2 of them depending on which 550 meter you got. The kit also has the exact replacement for the 10K pot, so everything fit like it should.

Jim,Rick is probably the best guy you can get to convert your meter. When these older meters are well cared for and not exposed to the weather usually its simple process and everything works out well. LOL I've opened some of these old 550 meters up and thought I didn't sign on for this?,again I would suggest you take Rick up on his offer.HH Ron

I would not try it because I have never done detail work like that. If it was wood needed cut cut, glued or nail it would be a breeze. But that's my limit. You you think you might try let me know. Thanks Jim

There's a guy on ebay that sell kits to do it. It took about 10 minutes to do works fine. You need to be able to solder cleanly and be able to read. If you can't fine the guy let me know I have his info some place or I can point you to the parts. I thing it was 3 parts in total, a pot, and two resisters! Not too detailed just unsolder and resolder. The board is large little chance of solder bridges.
