is there a difference between 10" coil D2 new vs. older D2

sorry for repost

Just thought it interesting to notice, that on Whites site, the picture of the DD 10" coil for dfx and others shows the D2 sticker with an orange color font on the "D2" and older models have a white sticker totally. Has their technology improved and is it a worth while investment to upgrade from the older variation?

Also is it worth it to buy a new current model which retail msrp is $75-100 more than a pre-owned older model I have seen for sale online, also the factor of a new one has 2 years warranty.

Thank you in advance.

Same coils, different decals.

Would a lower serial # be worse to buy versus a much higher one?

No. Earlier or later Serial # makes no difference.

Those aren't serial numbers on the coils.

please enlighten me, what are they and how did you get to know this?

and shouldn't be confused with a Serial Number. It's not unusual for a manufacturer to occasionally change a decal color and I m sure any of the 10" D2 coils will work okay, and your only concern might be the warranty issue. Personally, I don't let that bother me and I sometimes grab a clean, low-mileage coil and seldom have a problem. I'm just not a fan of the DD coil so I don't use the 10" D2 coil and haven't paid attention to decal color changes.

I had seen S/N 0077
I thought it was a serial or mfg. # or way for mfr. To have a reference for time of mfg.

What Monte posted above is a Part Number usually found on the decal of a White's coil. The Serial number is stamped into the tab or mounting ear. Such as V31142.

The tab number is not a serial number. The coils don't have individual serial numbers.

If the number on the tap is not a serial number then maybe a manufacture date? I know I have identical coils, like a couple of Eclipse 5.3 and a couple of 6x9 coils and the tab numbers are different on identical coils.

Date of manufacture.
