Is the silver Umax good in heavy iron?

Recently with my Silver Saber UMax did an indoor nail/coin air test and back yard test with a square nail on top of a coin and it did extremely well on separation, But then again that was from air testing and in good ground so I don't if tough mineralization would be a factor and change these results?

I'd like to know that myself, Already know it does well with iron separation but how about tough mineralization?

Anyone out there know if the Silver Saber Umax or Silver Umax can handle tough mineralization?

It will do pretty well IF the coil is swept S-L-O-W-L-Y under these conditions. I found a wheat cent in one of these areas-you could actually see the iron ore the ground. I got quite a few "clicks" and decided to check them out. The trash items still "clicked" at the slower sweep speed but the wheat cent turned into a recognizable beep and then actually smoothed out as I got even slower. It's a two filter machine and needs time to process the signal. Of course there are better Tesoros for this application, but this will surprise you. Go to search and type in Monte and you will get a professional and clear understanding of the problems and detectors needed in this ground.

You may get different opinions about this.

But I think that the Silver uMax works well
in iron if it is ground balanced properly.

It will pop and spit at the iron, but ignores
small stuff.

I think most people lower the sensitivity
a lot. That makes it quieter. I prefer to
keep the sense as high as I can and just
tolerate the pops and spits.

I think the Compadre works better in iron.

In my opinion the Compadre is killer in
heavy trash.

How can this be? you ask<><>

You will have trouble with getting depth
in heavy trash. The deeper your signal,
the more junk picked up at one time...
That's making the problem worse.
The Compadre doesn't have that much
depth. But it can isolate targets real well
and ends up getting just as much depth
in heavy trash as the deeper machines.

In other words it's hard to beat in heavy
trash.

It surface hunts real well. It's easy to tell
depth with it.

A better machine in iron is the Eldorado.

I like my Euro Sabre for handling iron.
It's just like the Eldorado, but has an
Iron ID feature.

I found a 0.10 gram ear ring made of 14k
gold jewelry that was right over a 3/8" steel
nut. It was also close to a steel reinforced
concrete slab and under a chain link fence.

A few days later, I found a piece of 10k gold
with my Euro and it just weighed 0.03 grams.
It was under iron playground equipment.

It's very sensitive. Today I recovered a strait
pin with it.

I was in a tot lot and digging everything without
even checking it.

Not many machines will even air test a strait
pin, much less recover one.

That's my 3 cents worth,

Looking for a backup machine that can pick targets out of heavy nails/iron.
[size=large]I'd just like to clarify what you mean. By "heavy nails" are you referring to a very dense scattering of iron nails compared to a site where nails are few and far between?

Also, by "heavy iron" are you referring to 'heavy' as in large iron objects, or do you mean 'heavy iron' as in high iron mineralization?
