is the new Excal 2 coil really lighter?

Bling

New member
im thinking about buying a new Excal 2 .is the coil really lighter than the old model?

It is not only lighter but thinner so it is less water resistant. However the weight is only a couple ounces lost. You can make the whole thing less water resistant by running the wire along the side of the shaft instead of around it and hip mounting the controls.

sandman is correct and also remember the weight savings is at the coil and thats where you feel it the most.

Also that newer nimh batteries are superb, a nice improvement over the older nicads.
