They are two totally different machines, different frequencies, different coils different everything.
Just check the specs sheet for each machine at garrett or do a google search on each detector and you will see the differences.
the A.T.Pro is streets ahead of the 350 in performance, power and versatility and ground handling ability.

Wonder where the reports are. Dealers have them and I'm sure they are being used. KellyCo, Detector Depot, and North Georgia Relics has them all Findmall sponsers. No news is good news I guess. HH:shrug:

Hershey1, how do you know North Georgia Relics has them? Don told me a little over a week ago that he didn't have them yet and would call me when he does. He is advertising them though. Skip

He has them listed to sell and Don would'nt list them if he did'nt have them. Lynn at Detector Depot has them also. Don has been working and being there in the afternoon I'll give him a call.

a single ferq VLF will work on salt sand...iv owned many and none would perform well on wet salt sand .if this AT Pro will hit a dime @ 15" like my Sovereign ,and Excal i will buy 2 of them! i had a Sea Hunter PI back in the 70's and it was a great detector but you had to dig everything. i think Garrett got everything right on this AT Pro but wish it was a multi ferq...

It may be able to keep up with an Excalibur/Sovereign in the dry sand, but in the wet sand and water of a salt water environment it seems unlikely to come close in terms of performance or stability. Garrett's own literature indicates the AT PRO is not suggested for a salt water surf environment and it does not employ a salt elimination mode like Garrett's other VLF detectors that are suggested for use in such an environment. I was hoping this would be a great salt water machine as well but it seems unlikely IMHO. But soon enough we shall see.

I think I will just wait until a couple of hands on reviews come out. It looks and sounds like the real deal.
If it does the walk as well as the talk, I'll be looking at a pair of'em !

Heck , the $800 Soveriegn with a little 10 inch coil on it can EASILY hit dime in wet salty sand at well over a foot without breaking a sweat !!..... With the bigger coil and being compared to the $1500 machine , the AT Pro should hit a dime at WAY deeper than 12 inches down in wet salty sand !!.... It will be out soon enough , and we'll all see it in action ...Jim
