As I've mentioned before, all three 9-inch coils will find coins and jewelry. Frankly, I don't see much difference (if any) in depth or separation characteristics beetween the three. I do notice that I have to lower the sensitivity when using the 18.75, or it chatters more than the 7.5 or 3 kHz (in the same soil). So apparently, my high freq coil is a bit more sensitive than my other two. Theoretically, the higher frequencies are better suited for lower conductive targets such as gold (and iron). Lower frequencies are better suited for higher conductive targets such as silver and copper. But again, all three frequencies will find silver coins, copper coins, gold coins and jewelry. As a coin shooter who likes to hunt old farmsites that are typically littered with nails and old pieces of iron implements, I prefer the lower frequency (3 kHz coil) for those sites. Not necessarliy due to it being better suited for silver and copper. But ....... I figure if it is better suited for silver and copper, then it is probalby less suited for the lower conductive targets. In the farm sites that I hunt, that would be iron objects. I know it will find gold, as they all will. But the audio response given by lower conductive targets has a distortion that I don't get on the higher frequency coils. So I guess to answer your question, if you are hunting for jewelry, the higher frequency coil would probably be more sensitive to small objects. But again, all three frequencies will find most of the targets that coin, jewelry and relic hunters are after. JMHO HH Randy
