Is the F2 VLF? If so, what frequency??? If PI how often?

Hello fellow MD users,

The F2 literature fails to say if it is VLF or PI. I assume it is VLF while when I look online in reviews (such as Lost Treasure Online) and other literature that typically has such information the frequency is somehow missing. Someone needs to tell Fisher we need to know if it is VLF and what frequency!!!

A few machines are variable so can be tuned to work on multiple frequencies - if the F2 works on multiple frequencies what are they? Thank you to anyone with the answer in advance.

Ed

Just due to the fact it has discrimination should cover any doubts as to it being VLF or PI. VLF = Discrimination, PI = All Metal Only.

Not cast in stone as I have discriminating PI's in stock, but there specialized units, and they certainly don't fit into the $200. price range as the F2.

Still look to know what frequency of VLF. And wonder why the manual and online literature everywhere including the Lost Treasure review do not state it is a VLF detector or what frequency VLF. So leaves potential customers guessing.

Could it be a PI? I agree probably not, but again I am guessing.

DOES ANYONE KNOW???

As Mr Bill already stated, it is definately NOT a PI unit.

As for what frequency it runs at, if its not stated, and you really need to know, consider checking into the coils it uses and then check to see what OTHER unit uses the same coils and THEN check what frequency THEY run on, it will have to be the same.

Some of us just want to spend $200 for a backup detector. The F2 seems a great choice while like all detectors has a few things that could be better.

I was ready to buy and F2 this weekend and did not. Want to understand what I'm buying to feel comfortable before I vote with my dollars on the F2 is what prompted me to join and post here.

Have talked to some others and we all feel someone who works for Fisher would tell us if the F2 is a VLF or not. And if so what frequency does the F2 run at ??? We all do wonder why this information isn't around online and in normal literature as it is for other detectors ... doubt can keep some from getting one and seems funny the information isn't around.

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER ???
