Is the Etrac noticeable better that the SE

Not a loaded question at all but several years ago I had a standard SE and liked it a lot but Ive been hunting with an Ace 250 for the last few years and just seems like im not getting deep enough to get the older coins so I bought an Etrac online Thursday and it should be here Tuesday so im really excited and im hoping some of you guys that have switched from the SE to the Etrac can tell me some of the differences better or worse Thanks and HH jeff

When I was learning my E-Trac from Andy Sabisch he chose it over the SE to hunt with. He had a wall full of detectors (including Explorers) and the E-Trac was his machine of choice over all of them (not that the Explorer was bad, the E-Trac was just a little better).

Thanks for the reply Im really excited my etrac was supposed to be here today but leave it to usps to screw up the shipment so I hope it will be here tomorrow thanks jeff

never used a explorer but do have a e trac from what i have heard the e trac is a little easier to learn and run and is more stable than the explorer dennis

I used the Explorer SE in our local city park where the coins can be extremely deep. I cleaned out, to the best of the SE's ability, a smaller area that had been productive with my past detectors. After several years with the SE I bought a E-Trac and took it to the same spot. I was totally amazed that I pulled not 1 but 2 walking liberty halves along with many silver dimes and quarters and wheats. In my eyes the E-Trac was a huge leap over the SE.

Thanks everyone Ive had my Etrac for 2 days so far and love it Ive found 2 wheats 1 indian a very nice womens sterling ring with some kind of yellow stone in it (at 8 inches deep) and $3.00 plus in clad in about 5 hours hunt time. jeff

They are both good units but.......I think the etrac is far smoother and not as much bouncing. Nothing like an etrac

I'm starting to agree Ive been hunting some newer sites where I know there will be a lot of clad so that I can understand the machine a little better before I try some of my 1700,s sites. But I can tell after a little bit of hunt time Im really going to like this machine

The Minelab E-Trac metal detector is smoother and faster recovery that the SE Pro. I really like the +1, +2, +3 numbers you can add to the auto sensitivity as well.
