Is the best Explorer SE or White

If you ask two different forums, you will get two different answers. Most on this forum will say the SE is their choice.

I've owned both and they are both great detectors. After 5 or 6 years (since the DFX first came out), I sold the DFX a month ago. That was due to more than just one reason, but partly because I didn't use it as much as the SE or new F75. The F75 from Fisher is really a great performer and does everything the DFX did and has more depth. Mainly, I sold the DFX in expectation of Whites hopefully coming out with a new top of the line detector sometime soon, and wanting to make room for that. Once a new detector comes out from Whites, it might be difficult to sell the DFX. In any event, I have detectors to cover for what I could do with a DFX.

I always felt that the DFX and the Explorer were good compliments for each other. I was glad I had both. I feel like the F75 and the SE is an even better combo. The SE has been upgraded twice now from the original XS. The DFX is basically the same as the original. It is getting a little (very little) outdated on technology. So it is a little less competitive now than when it first came out.

It does have some advantages of weight, balance and speed over the SE, but I always felt that the weight thing was over hyped. The SE is heavy and not as well balanced, but not to a unworkable degree. I can swing it all day without problems.

The SE has better depth and works in mineralized ground better.

Both have excellent TID.

Hope that helps!
