Is the audio as clear on the M6 as it is on the MXT.

I just got a M6 and the audio is sort of gravely and dull. No where near as clear as my MXT. Also when I crank it up all the way using the shooter and the 5.3 and the 5X10 the audio is real crackly like it is when you run the MXT cranked all the way up in the Relic trigger forward. My MXT I can run wide open with all 3 coils in the Trigger centered Position. It don't get crackly till I turn it to Trigger forward. I can run the MXT higher Sen. in Relic with the trigger centered and very little crackly noise. I have to run the M6 back at the 10 spot and my MXT will get better depth then the M6 and does not Lie as much as the M6 does at depth . Anyway just a few Questions to bounce around. I think I am going to send it to Factory cause I don't think it is supposed to be this way. 7 Tones are also Dull sounding and does not have a clear audio either.  I ain't impressed. Thanks in advance Jerry aka Tinfoil.

The sound of the M6 with the trigger in center position should be the same as the MXT in coin/jewelry mode.

I thought it was acting funny and just did not have a clear audio. Thanks for the info. Looks like the new detector is going on a Road Trip. First my Golden MM craps out. My SE is screwed up it has to go back and now my new M6 has bit the bullet.. My Fishers never break. Later and Thanks again Jerry aka Tinfoil.

Tinfoil....does sound like a problem with the M6. Been using mine now for almost 4 months and haven't had the problems with it you talk about. I can even crank mine up over 100 on the sensitivty most of the time without any crackling. You try it with and without the headphones plugged in. Was just wondering if maybe something wrong with the headset wiring or the plug. Good luck with it.

or friday afternoon ones too!

The White's M6 uses the same 'engine' as the MXT. Software was modified to actually make it quieter and improve the signal to noise.

The M6 also gives you the Seven Tone Target ID that MXT users previously put on a wish list.

As far as the MXT's Relic Mode... It IS quieter because it has greater filtration.
