Is the 4.5" sniper coil worth having?

Since I don't live near any saltwater beaches. (live in Iowa). Also not to many fresh water beaches. Most of my hunting will be at city parks and old houses and such. Would it pay to buy a sniper coil for my Ace 250? I think it would be nice around the play ground equipment. Does it really help in junky places. Would my coin count increase enough to justify the price for one. Thanks for any input!

The Sniper takes you places you've never been before. Well worth the money. Really Garrett coils cost a lot less than most other brands. So they are a deal new. You can usually find good used ones in the classifieds or the e auction site.

Put mine on the 250 , never took it off. Better pinpointing, separation of signals and depth loss in minimal. A definite plus!!

It's a great tool for tot lots, and under bleachers  and any really bad pull tab infested place. The cost effectiveness depends on how much you use it, BUT if you are always wondering whats there and can't hunt due to trash, then how many $$$ can take the place of peace of mind........

I have one. Don't use it much lately. It would be best to consider your hunting style and then buy the appropriate coils. In my case I like a bigger coil. I am also lovingnmy new DD coil a whole lot. To add, within a week of getting my sniper coil I found a gold ring and a gold chain piece right up against jungle gym poles. It was the only coil in my arsenal that works there. I always have mine with me just in case.

The sensitivity can also be increased farther without as many adverse false signals. Other than that, in wide open areas I would stay with the stock coil. Only thing is, if you ever encounter tight places, it will easily pay for itself. In my scenario, it's the only coil I use and has paid for itself several times over. It turns the detector into a different kind of animal.

I have used my sniper many times. Often times when relic hunting, I have take the GTI 2500 along + my ACE 250 with the sniper coil attached. There are places hard to get at with a larger coil, and if you are the person to hunt those places using a small coil, you get the finds.

Thanks for all the responses. I thought is sounded like it would be good to have. Looks like I will probably be buying me a new 4.5" coil.
