It is a concentric coil. It is a few inches deeper than the 8 inch coil and it seems to like deep coins on edge. It gets heavy fast if not hipmounted.
I have all 3 coils for my CZ5 and they all have their purpose. Don't think there was ever a DD coil made for the CZ'S. My favorite coil is the little 5 inch coil. Very deep and fantastic in heavy trash. The 5 incher found that barber dime for me at 8 inches with a strong signal.
Pick up one of the Sunray FZ-12 coils. The 10.5" cz coil is a good one and like Joe says...loves dimes on edge....but the FZ-12 loves those same dimes on edge...and at least 1 full inch deeper for me. A bit pricey...but well worth it for me.
All the cz coils are good ones...and are all very HOT.
The Fisher 10.5" coil is an elliptical concentric coil, excellent coil. albeit heavy. The Sunray 12.5" coil is a GREAT coil.
Fisher never could get a DD coil to work with the CZ line, not sure what the obstacle was, but they simply don't exist (what a machine it would be if they did!).
