Is recovery delay independent of ground filter ?

Pat in On

New member
As an example if I am hunting with deep silver (I turn mixed mode off ) and I lower the recovery delay to get around the trash should I also increase my ground filter ?.

Please correct me if I'm wrong forum members, but yes, they are independent. Your ground filter setting should be mainly determined by 2 factors...your personal sweep speed and the ground mineralization of the area you are hunting.

Duclaw is right and the recovery delay setting is determined by how much trash you want to mess with. More delay, the V has more time to analyze deeper targets, less delay, the V can recover faster between the trash. A bittersweet compromise.

Excellent short and to the point answer re: recovery delay.....I'm gonna use that quote if I'm ever asked by a curious V user....or any user for that matter.

So more delay would favor a slower swing?

J

To get down deep, yes.

Are you saying that the higher the number, the slower the recovery....lower the number, the faster the recovery? I always understood it to mean that a recovery speed of 50 gave more time than say a recovery speed of 80. Yes? No?

Yes, you are right. Recovery Delay, the higher the #, the more delay.
