Hi,
is it possible to rewire a Coiltek WOT for the Eureka Gold, XT1800, to a Sovereign GT?
thanks.

Sovereign GT & Excalibur are BBS technology.......they are different from the Eureka. Running on a different (frequency) I do believe.

thanks but that doesn't answer my question,
Coiltek has a compatibility chart for the 15 WOT coil for all this metal detectors
EXPLORER SERIES, QUATTRO / ETRAC, SOVEREIGN SERIES, XT SERIES / EUREKA GOLD, MUSKETEER SERIES
and they don't mention anything different in the coils design or technology for each detector,
this make me believe that the only difference is connectors and only four wire coming out of the coil.
I was reading some were in this forum that only four wires go to the coil on sovereign and the other two are used for the digimeter or whatever is called

let's wait for the person who knows.

Well it may work sort of but getting tuned probably would be difficult . I think it would probably not be real hot of a set up.

you are not right explorer-sovereign totally different coils, just case they use the same for simple production, with eureka the same. this coils are different. but you can try

I rang the guys at coiltek here in Aust and the answer to your question was no. Actually he said you can wire them up but it wouldn't work The Sovereign and Eureka run different coil parameters
Cheers Ron:ausflag:

From what I read on the coilteck site I think you should just buy one to Sovereign GT.
