Is my CZ21 a dog ?

SWMO Mark

New member
Bought a new CZ21 in March. From the beginning I felt that its depth capabilities were lacking. I had a CZ20 about 5 yrs. ago and I feel its depth was a lot better than the 21. Also the tone ID on a nickel is off. I get a a mid tone one time and the next time I get a high tone like I am supposed to. This is a airtest with a new nickel about 2" from the coil. Setup in Autotune with sens. on 10, I can barely hear a quarter at 10", a nickel is barely heard at 8". This is with the 10 1/2" coil. If anyone has the same setup as me I would like to hear what depth they get on a nickel and quarter. Thanks, Mark

Heck should be still under warranty so send in for a retune...definetly a dog depthwise and nickel seems way off kilter..

I don't have a 21,But I do have a CZ-20 I just picked up and at sens. 6, 0 disc, and volume 5 I can get a solid repeatable hit 0n a 10'' clad dime. And about 11'' on a quarter. Thought about a 21 as I have land hunted with CZ's for years and wanted to try a little water hunting,But saw a CZ-20 for 375.00 so thought try it first to see if I liked it. And I do so far is great on land still have to hit the water though.

And I forgot too add I have the 8'' coil. And deep nickel's do have a tendency to bounce mid to high tone new or old on mine unit and most CZ' s.

Plan on sending it back for a retune. But it will have to wait until water hunting season is over, its the only water detector I have right now. Thanks for the responses. Mark
