Is it worth searching the beach this weekend in NJ?

I was considering searching through the sand in New Jersey but I don't know if people find things at this time of year. Is it worth looking? Should I look close to the water, or does that not matter? Thanks in advance.

Well, there has not probably been much deposited since last September, but it's always great to get to the beach.

I was thinking of going to the shore myself this Saturday. Which beach(es) were you thinking of going to? I may try Atlantic City. Maybe I'll see you there.

Good luck!

If you plan to hunt the south jersy beaches anytime soon....then you want to stay higher up on the beach due to the fact that we haven't had any storms or wind action to move much sand lately and the wetsand and surf parts of the beach have been filling in with clean light sand. the trick is going to be finding the old storm high tide line from the last storm....you will know it from a debris line of weed or shells that might be lightly covered by windswept sand. when you locate this line try and hunt between it and the current high tide line lots of times you will find a concentration of coins and some jewelry in these spots just remember that this can be real hit or miss at times....also look for an older beach (one that hasn't been replenished in a few years) as it will hold a larger accumulation of targets within reach of your detector....good luck...and let us know how you do.....Brian
