Is it possible to search in one freq, pinpoint in all 3?

Hi,

Just a basic question that will probably only need a short answer if "no," but a much longer "how to" answer if "yes". Is there an easy way to search in 2.5, but pinpoint in all 3 frequencies so I can better tell the difference between legitimate targets and trash?

Thanks,

Mike

No. Because of how the frequencies interact when running all 3, the ground balance needs to be redone every time you switch from 3 to single (or vice versa). So, there's not an automatic way. You can adjust the frequency in the live control when you're ready to pinpoint (or go back to searching), but you need to regroundbalance when you do.

I'm not that familiar with the analyze screen, but it would be nice if it could be set up as a secondary search screen. I guess that is what I hoped someone would come up with on an earlier post.

In some ways I have done that by unchecking the "Match Search" box. I have it set up to a faster sweep - Faster filter, Recovery and SAT rate. Seems to pick up those deep targets nicely!

I run deep silver on 2.5. When I hit a target. I hit enter while over live control on programs. I then have a three frequency program that is the same as the deep silver but called 3 freq deep silver. Highlight that and enter. then pinpoint with that. Once done hit enter and go back to deep silver. Takes Less than Three seconds to switch back and forth. Doesn't seem to hinder ground balance and you get best of both
