Is it possible to put an 8" coil on to a................

.....................Tesoro Compadre. If it came with an 8" coil I would have bought one years ago. Just can't handle the idea of dry sand beach hunting with the tiny 5" coil. Or how about the coil found on the Cibola? Maybe I should contact Tesoro....................thanks for your opinions.

well idon't know about 8" coils but the older ones use to come with the 7" coil and there was someone on the tesoro forum a while back that had done such a conversion and worked really good

There are two ways to do it. Either take the plug off a 8" coil and wire it to the board or add a female plug to the control box and have interchangeable coils.

for a little more $ you could just buy a Silver Umax that also has a sensitivity setting on it...then you could tone down some of the falsing in the wet sand and hunt a little closer to the water line.......Just a thought you could also send everything in to Tesoro and they could add it and also adjust the compadre to the new coil for better performance......HH...Tab.
