Is It Just Me Or Is The AT Gold Hot On Silver Coins And Rings

Since I started using the AT Gold mostly, my silver count has increased quite a bit. Some have stated that the higher frequency should do the opposite to silver. I have never really believed that theory, as there are many things one can add to the electronics to counteract that. And other variables such as size of target, mineralization in matrix, length of time the target has been in the ground, orientation of the target to the coil....just to name some of them.

What has been your experiences?

You think it might be that sweet little DD coil that's getting better seperation and at the same time the ATG unmasking those coins other detectors might not see?? That's my opinion!!

John,
I think you have some sweet spots up there to find just about ANYTHING !!...... How deep are you finding the Silver ? .......I'm not so sure I buy into the lower frequency machines going deeper on the Silver either .......I've had a LOT of luck with the AT Pro with Silver ..... but it also does very well on Gold too !!......It's not my deepest machine , but it is surely a great all around machine !!....Here in NY , I can go from the beach to an old park in about 15 minutes ......To be able to hunt both area's ( looking for Gold on the beaches, and old Silver in the parks ) the AT Pro makes for a handy machine for days of this nature .....Jim

But most of my silver finds with the AT Gold weren't in trashy areas? But I was using the 5" x 8" coil...... I noticed that quarterhorse has also been finding more silver. Just an observation:shrug:

Not today .......but then again it rained most of the day.......I did find $2.87 and a festival pin today......none of my AT Gold finds have been over 6 inches but I haven't put it on ground yet that I haven't already covered with the AT Pro....... kinda like a mopping up exercise. I think its because I am in super trashy ground and there were more targets under the big coil and the smaller coil is able to seperate them a tad better. I always ran the big coil on the AT Pro in Pro Zero nothing disced and I am running the small coil on the "Gold" in Disc 1 with 40 disced. This is a very large area several acres once I have it covered I'll go back with the big coil on the AT Gold and see what surprises I missed.
