Is it a coin?

Hello,
I found this at an old 1800's church. I pulled several coins out of this area, and this object rang in at 12-46 (a good signal for those of you who are unfamiliar with the E-Trac) on my E-trac. It is the size of a quarter, and has rigid edges, like a coin. I have no clue on what it is.
Thanks in advance.

How thick is it? For me it appears like a bottle cap, might also be a partially melted coin... May have been lightning struck smelting it..

Well, it doesn't appear to have any numismatic value anymore, scratch it and see if it looks like silver. If it cleans up to a shiny silver look, put a drop of French's brand yellow mustard on it and heat it with a match or lighter.....of course, holding it with tongs or pliers so as not to get burned. If it is silver, the mustard with leave a black spot as a result of the sulphur in the mustard (French's is the only brand that has this, that I know of). This spot does not hurt the metal and can easily be cleaned off with vinegar or silver cleaner

It looks like an old button to me. Some were made of silver, lead, and pewter. Some had rims with backs and their eyelets were brazed on. Id say the eyelet was broken off of this two park button.

Did you find any other burned objects at this site. Many of the old churches burned down back in the day and were rebuilt in the same place or maybe right next to it. Whatever was inside ended up in an ash layer.
