Is garrett ace 250 any good

It's a great machine for beginners. Very good on sand and TOT LOT, it does not pick up the metal (iron) pole/post which the Pro does. You will most likely dig up more trash with this than if you have the At Pro. But overall it's a good machine. That's just my opinion.

It's a great little machine. I highly recommend you get the Garrett pro-pointer as
well. Most new people spend a lot of time trying to find their Target when digging it
it out of the ground. Usually this results in frustration and a bigger hole which means
a mess. Not good when your in a public park on in a yard. The pro pointer sells
for $149 if but most dealers you see here sell it at $127.

It's a very satisfying machine. I will eventually buy an AT Pro, but for now, it's all ACE 250.

Not really. I found 5 quarters in a spill and it said 50 cents. I found several gold rings-it said "pulltab" or "foil" A "screwcap" turned out to be a school class ring. Everyone says it's a "puke" yellow and that an ol' man like me should be carrying some "distinquished" color-like black or, well, anything but "puke" yellow. Since it's paid for itself several times over, I just don't have the heart to ditch it, so I bought a sniper coil to bring some new life to it. Oh, Woe is me.

Garrett is a nice machine I have a Ace 350, I have found all kinds of stuff at the beach ( Dry salt sand )
have fun :clapping:

I always keep a GARRETT AC 250 IN THE TRUNK OF MY CAR WHILE MY AT PRO IS HOME RESTING. You never know when you'll come a cross a great place tooooooo hunt

It s better that that puke green the old Garrett machines were painted.

I just can't understand why so many people are concerned with the color of a detector. We are not in a fashon show. Most people who see us
out there think we are a little nuts anyway. I'am looking for results not fashon.

This made me laugh cause my wife tells me this all the time but i don't care they are probably right lol

I was at a fair last Friday and met two fellow detectors. Talked about the ACE's and they told me they weren't any good. I asked them if they tried other MD's and they replied no. So, I'm presuming they don't know their MD's too well, and/or haven't found anything of interest so far. Okay, I know my first Chinese detector was more precise, but it ate 9 volt batteries like crazy, it was hard to hold for long periods of time, and I had to sway really slowly for it to catch up with the signals. It would also hang many times. The ACE is a bit jumpy, but I'm getting used to it and I'm sticking with it for now. Besides, when there's a strong fixed tone and signal, there's always something good underneath. :)

I will add my nickel :It's as good as the user" You can take a radio shack metal detector and wip a new person if you have experiance on your side. But. I'll say it again,"you got to know your machine. :detecting: :garrett:
