is anyone else struggling with the f75s speed?

when i hunt an old homesite or somewhere trashy i am overwhelmed by all the signals and i think i am missing good targets. i don't have a lot of time on this detector maybe 40 hours total. just wondering if anyone else feels the same? i seem to like the monotone and all metal best but i still struggle with what i should dig. a lot of high tones seem to turn out to be trash when in 3 or 4 tone setting even with a 65 to 85 vid. guess i need to hunt some more and dig a lot until i get used to this machine. any tips would be appreciated.

for the trashy sites and lower your sens down into the 50's ... and don't be afraid to raise your coil up 5-6" above the ground because the F75 is incredibly stout even at that coil height and is very precise. Use as close to zero disc and notching as possible and you'll hear the target mix much easier.
Use whatever sounds make the best discernible sense to YOU and go at it. A lot of people recommend a fast swing rate and that's good advice when you're over 1 target but I found out that slowing down and really working a small target infested area works really well for me.
My 2 cents worth.

When I first started out with mine, I stayed in the factory preset modes for 25 or so hours and dug everything so as to see what all I was hearing and seeing on the screen. And even in those modes, I was somewhat overwhelmed right off. Although I have experimented with all the modes, for coinshooting I have pretty much settled in with using de process, disc. 6, 3h tones and sen. as high as I can run it. Usually, 80-85. I also use the je mode quite a bit. And, I should mention, I hunt in the trash. On 50's and newer sites, I don't dig a lot of readings of 60-68. They, more often then not, are bottlecaps. Some inch or so size pieces of copper and brass do read in the upper 70's to mid 80's, so, such does get dug along with the occasionaly old rusty bottlecap. Most of my gold rings have read as a nickel, so I dig all readings of 28-31, and do dig a tab tail on occasion. For as accurate of readings as possible, a good accurate pinpoint is a must. Hope this is of some help. But, remember, you weren't and aren't along in what you are experiencing. HH jim tn

I agree with what jim tn has said. I use all metal mode a lot and listen for repeatable signals. I also ground balance a lot. I have also found that the smaller coil is great in trash areas. Good luck, and good hunting! The F75 is an awesome machine.

There aint nothing like the sound of a bunch of good targets just 1" apart..Kinda sounds like theres a war in the ground..machine guns everywhere..
It dont take to much digging to gain confidence in the F75..Just gotta learn it likes its your best friend..awesome machine..With both coils..
