Is Anyone Doing Any Hunting in The Drought?

Just wondering if anyone is out hunting. I cant bring myself to create brown circles across the country side. On the bright side its looking like if we don't get any rain soon we will be able to hunt any where we want because everything will already be brown any ways. I could hunt certain areas right now and never worry.

I am staying completely away from public grassy areas but just got permission to hunt a pasture that once had a log cabin on it. Heading there in about an hour.

I'm like you Jeff, you have to take it case by case. If the grass is already brown, I just don't see where digging will do that much more damage, your plug and the grass will come back with the 1st good rain. Woods, fields, tot lots, beaches are all fair game though.

Yes but we only had a half hour to hunt, I forgot which half produced for you, we hunted the larger triangle on the right because it had some shade. We just found some clad was all.

That is the side that I never pulled anything from. The small triangle and the other park about 1/4 mile up the road is where I found everything. Still haven't had a chance to get the ctx out there but soon very soon.

I have been hibernating with the heat. I just wish we could get some rain.

About the only thing I'm hunting for is someplace with air conditioning and a cold beer

The heat has got to me so bad, that I mowed my dead grass this morning.

Dave, That's bad. Really bad!!! :stars: One question....... Did you have the engine running or just making a "dry" run?

OMG!!! :surprised: That has to be the best reply I have read in a long time. :clapping::cheers:

I had to run the motor so that the exhaust would keep me warm, and drive off the cicada killers that are all over heck. I think I'll spray it tomorrow and really burn up any weeds. Then in a couple years when it decides to rain again, I'll just throw some grass seed out there and I'll be good to go. Hey at least the yard won't interfere with my detecting weekend plans, (for a quite some time).

I think I better go get my boots on! It's getting pretty deep here!:devil:
