Haven't seen any new posts. Is anyone digging anywhere. I know its been real hot here in Maryland but somewhere it has got to be cool enough to go out and swing your thing around a little bit.

hi jay. just looking for the heat to let up a little bit. just been so dern hot lately, which is odd for around here this time of year. i have 3 days off work, so i plan on doing some hunting in the early mornings. since i work half inside/half outside, i'm getting acclimated to the heat. so the buckles and buttons better watch out, 'cause here i come! hh,

Should be some places open up this fall. Got my eye on several good spots just waiting for the construction to begin.Braved the heat the other day and found a couple bullets but thats been it.Going door knokin this weekend (my worst fear)

hi jay, i went out early this a.m. and found a yank kepi buckle w/ a small piece of leather in it, some flat lead, a spencer end, and an ornate brass coat hanger lookin' piece, and a piece of harmonica reed. also got several other unidentified whatzits and pieces of iron. the big round brass piece is threaded like an old flashlite and has an odd-lookin' "L" on it surrounded with a wreath. didn't find much but it was a fun 2 hours. the place has been pounded in the past too. it's worth another look soon. going back out this eve too. hh,

Found a little time to stop by an old boy scout campground Wednesday evening but never got out of the truck. Poison ivy vines covering everything!
More rain/thunderstorms for today but should be a really nice weekend. Might hit the inlaws farm, had good luck there in the past.

I noticed a new construction site on my way to work. Its not very large but across the road was an old Inn back in the 1700's and where they are digging used to be were the old bridge crossed the Monacacy river out side of Frederick, MD. I have to work tomorrow morning so I think I will jump in there and see whats shaking after work.I will post if anything turns up.Just a stone throw away was "Wormans Mill" where many Union troops encamped during the war.
